  • What are your specs for dodge/burn?

I see a lot to people write that they used dodge or burn. What settings do you use on the brush. Granted it is case by case but are there "standard" settings that you like to try first. Sort of like unsharp mask, we all have a starting point.

    Thanks.

I think with most situations and tools, it's easier to add or "build" than take away. I don't personally like using the Dodge/Burn tool but when I do I never go over 15%. If it needs more I paint over it again as well as adjusting the percent strength. But a lot of it is what you are working with and what you are trying to achieve.

    Cheers
    Dave

I almost never use the dodge/burn tool, but I dodge and burn a lot. I usually use an overlay layer, filled with 50% gray, and a black soft brush set to 5%. The size will vary widely.
