    Yellow children (skintone balance issue)

I have tried a few methods to balance this photo, but am still not happy with my result. I resorted to LAB (probably making life a bit tricky for myself) to get reid of some of the cast, but wonder if anyone had some tips to offer.
Obviously the skin is too yellow, but I've been finding that in the process of removing the yellow I've been flattening the colour.
Out of interest what are some 'normal'/'neutral' skin tone values? I've been doing it by eye, but sometimes the numbers help.

I used the hue/sat to remove the yellow.

I tried that way too but felt everything looked too flat afterwards.
Just had another go with some more curves and a pink-to-white gradient map set to 15% Color, that I was surprised to see helped.

You could try a cooling filter...

Im a beginner so just throwing what I know out there..

jbrembat, what method did you use to balance the white? It looks like a good start, and probably quicker than mine.

White balance using my father's PhotoResampling. Just a click on strap.

Another Windows plugin. Not to worry.

                        My take on it,
removed colour cast with pro contrast then remove cast filter in "NIK" on yellow, desaturated the yellows again in selective colour and hue/sat...then brought back the vibrance in the colours of the t-shirts etc, Gary

Ps... if you take images in Raw you can change the white balance easily

Thanks Gary, Pro contrast is a Windows plugin isn't it? You guys have an easy ride
I ended up creating a Luminosity layer from the RAW that brought out more details in the shadows.

                            Hi Smoothfluid,
"pro contrast" used in combination with "remove colour cast filter" are Nik filter plugins , they work as a good starting point and should be available for mac too

There's a bit of a blue color cast (esp in the whites) in this image that I want to eliminate. I'm sure this is a simple task for many of you, however I haven't been too successful at it. First of all, I tried to correct the white balance in my RAW converter manually by selecting an area that should...

I am retouching this for my sister-in-law, and I was wondering how you would approach this and what your various techniques for retouching it would be. For one, there is a lot of yellow that need to be toned down. I figure that a yellow cast is fairly common with old photos and thought this thread...

The attached image has been critiqued by one side as having too much yellow, the other too much red. I would appreciate any and all suggestions of how to satisfy all parties. I am a newbie to color correction so please be gentle with me. Thank you...

                                Hello,
I am a pretty advance user of photoshop 7.0 and am quite proficcient at all of the tools. I have used the program for years on most of my photographs, which are mostly of landscapes and such or artistic endeavors.

So this is my main concern as always, my weakest point, and at the same time when the auto WB fails to do it's task, this is what I'm left with.

I'm trying to get the tones fairly natural, which is the opposite of what I usually do, but it's important for this shot.
