    Is this retouch fine or did i go a bit too far?

    (Apologies, but you probably saw that coming)

    Not entirely sure which is before and which is after image, the photo go to rollover through a few stages. Starting image seems a bit too dark, final (final stages of the rollover) is a bit too light.

      That's always quite subjective. It just depends on what you were trying to achieve. We can only critique less subjective parts of the image, i.e. individual features, left over blemishes, tell tale signs of repair, etc. To most of us, the image looks quite bright, like an over exposure. But, if that's what you wanted, or needed to portray, then it's fine. What you did around the eyes, mouth, hair all looks fine. However, it's always hard to critique a GIF, easier if the before and after were separate files.

              You didn't go too far at all.... actually... you probably didn't go far enough...

              Add some contrast and some coolness to the temperature and you should be about at the right point.

                To me, the specular highlights are too saturated.
