  • What do you think of this retouch?

    Hi everybody,

    How's retouching life???
Did this retouch recently and I was just wondering if you would critique on it.
    I've attached retouch and master.
Check it out, let me know if I should work on something to improve my output.
In addition, I just started retouching services --> HKRetoching

    Best,

I'm on a calibrated monitor and the skintone of the retouched image seems way too red.

Should be good now. It was a bit magenta shifted. Thanks.

I think the file is probably in the wrong color space(Adobe RGB). If you assign sRGB to it it looks much better.

looks good. watch out you don't take TOO MUCH shadow away from eyes...they still need to look at least slightly recessed.

                    But it's not tagged sRGB.

Open your file in photoshop then assign the adobeRGB profile to it, you'll see the reds become more saturated. This is also what happens when I open your untagged file into my working color space, which is AdobeRGB.

What happens is that most web browsers are not color managed, and some will assign the user's monitor profile to untagged profiles, and if they have a wide gamut monitor the result is similar to tagging the sRGB file as adobeRGB.

I'm guessing that's what's happening to the viewer who sees the skin as too red, because I don't think it is that way when viewed as sRGB in a properly color managed application.

But color management is a nightmare, sorry for the diversion.

Never mind my color management ramble. I missed this post and thought you were denying that the image was too red. If it WAS too red then the rest is moot.

"But color management is a nightmare" - absolutely... never ending fight.
Yea, it was a bit on the red side...Thanks for your replies though.
