  • Complex reflections? Product

    All,

I have photographed this image as a cut-out but now would like to know how hard it is to photoshop a reflection in - to make it look like the image has been placed on a reflective surface.

The complexity here is that the product is neither level or square - and hence I'm really struggling.

I'm sure one of you photoshop masters can help ... any assistance would be much appreciated.

See the image in Flickr Here!

    Thanks
    Matt

I gave it a quick try.
Cut and paste and transform (flip vertical, skew, perspective), curves, then tighten up the composite.
Note that I did it in thee parts, and the only the words are flipped, the other parts are simply moved down below the surface.

      Hiya Matt,

Just had a quickie with your clock, I duped it, flipped it vertical, skewed, transfomed, warped to get it sit under the original, added a layer mask and threw a black to white gradient on then lowered the opacity to 40% and done.

          About 10 mins (no more)
Oh by the way, I forgot, I did enlarge the canvas size to give me some room to play with.

5 minutes - maybe less. proof-of-concept only. You'll need to fine tune the compositing, masking, fade/focus etc.

Honestly, nothing beats getting it right in camera. You don't you go for another take and make sure to get the reflection in. This will be the right thing to do.
