just wondering if anyone knows what this photoshop effect on the background might be??? looks like it started as picture of clouds and sea but has had something applied to it.

with a blending mode or something? it gives a similar effect but i feel like it affects the colour way to much

well, it is not going to be just one filter, you would need to adjust colors and overall feel to your taste utilizing various adjustment layers, color, selective color, HS, etc, etc
