  • So I attempted the 'American Glitz' photo look...

And I'd appreciate your opinions on how I did. I finally discovered the beauty of dodging and burning on a soft light layer... Anyway, I would adore to hear any opinions on this attempt... It is definitely one of my better ones. The overall quality of the image is better on my computer, however I edited the size for you guys to be able to see on this forum.

Everything about this is offensive. Can't you see?

I'm not sure if this is a random troll or someone with absolutely no taste.

MissMitchy, please stay away from this awful sort of genre and instead learn good, solid retouching techniques that actually flatter the subject. Unfortunately this example does not flatter the subject at all - either photographically or retouching-wise.

There should be a special corner of hell reserved for people who commit this kind of crap. It's borderline child abuse, if you ask me.

          Aren't you glad you asked?

The skin is plastic. If you are going for this kind of "retouching", then I'd suggest making the eyes as outrageously large as possible to complete the fake doll-like genre.

Britsdad - you've broken new ground in the genre. I think you've found your niche.

I wish you would have put a before photo to compare. It's not bad. The skin could be harder to resemble more like plastic or ceramic. Bigger eyes would help as well.

I doubt that you will get much response here as it seems that most experienced forum members believe this type of thing to be at best in poor taste going to offensive and would prefer to see children shine as they should simply as children. In that I include myself

Also, I want to know how they make these eyes as they look stunning to me I would like to learn that too. I always take them from other Glitz photos, but it doesn't...
