Hey guys, if you take a look at the image, the model has some very blonde highlights. What can I do so to alter the color of these so they match her natural hair color, a light brown? I don't want to just paint over her and make her into a dark brunette, I'd like to only target the highlights.

Take a strip of the good hair and paste over the offending area at different opacities and offsets. The opacity differences will create ambiguous edges which will serve as hair texture. Partial example attached to make the point. Spend some time on it and you should get a seamless result.

VERY CLEAN and exactly what I was looking for, all the "hair color dying" and "color replacement brush" techniques I'd seen had some really awful results. Thanks a bunch!

The root of the problem is textural rather than colour. The blonde hair lacks strand definition due to highlight strength. When darkened the hair would reveal texture (this applies to any object) and this must be added for plausible results. Using what is already there overcomes this issue. Sure, you don't always have the advantage of useful texture to scavenge but, hey, make the most of it when you can!

In general, I prefer using curves in order to keep the original texture.
In this case however, you are right, cloning gives more believable results. (I believe it is also more difficult...)
