As far as chest and that "bigger" texture you've got to Dodge and burn.
Local texture, pimples etc you fix by cloning and healing, but only use brushes that are slightly bigger than the every single pimple you're trying to smooth out, do the ones that are most prominent first etc.
For that "crispy" look, you need to only sharpen what is absolutely necessary, not all over(use mask to isolate the effect).
And please fix that background mask(shoulder and neck mostly).
P.S. It's a good image as it is, keep on shooting and evolve your retouching with every new image that you do.
Check out Natalia Taffarel DVD, it has all the basis of retouching in it.
I work in the digital production field, working for a high end portrait studio. I am looking to fine tune some of my skills. I also would like to start doing some freelance work for professional photographers.
I am still struggling with knowing how far to go on some images and how to find clients....
Recently I was working on an image for a client. I was doing my normal everyday skin work to some models who had devastating skin. As I was working, a question that a attendee to my Las Vegas retouching class asked popped into my mind.
How do you know when to much has been done? Is there...
I just scanned some denim material for use as a texture, but when I use it there's a seam showing. I've tried everything I can think of but I can't get the seam to go away. The vertical seam seems fine, it's the horizontal seam that's the problem.
