Thanks for bringing that up Ken. I just tried it on one of my images, and it worked very well.

Ken - nice job. I think I remember someone else mentioning this technique in a thread where someone was concerned about how flat their colorization looked. Of course, I'd forgotten until you mentioned it here. Thanks for the reminder!

    Colorization

Upon reading a description from kndz, found here...http://www.retouchpro.com/gallery/sh...papass=&sort=1 , I got to thinking that kndz's technique might offer an interseting effect applied to a photo that was already a color photo. Following is an example, produced from an image I found on the internet.

    1 Duplicated the image.
2 Converted the copy to grayscale.
3 Selected the facial area of the color version.
4 Pasted it onto a new layer in the grayscale version and lined
    it up.
5 Set blend mode to color.
6 Changed the opacity until it looked good to my eye, not sure
    of the exact percentage.
    7 Flattened layers and saved.

Also, obviously I did touch up the blemishes and I did give her green eyes

Very Interesting Technique to try out
    by DJ Dubovsky
I found this tip while going through my huge collection of misc. tips and techniques copied from various web sites. I decided to try it out and was amazed with it's results. Especially on photos you want to bring out the dark areas. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

    Tutorial: Pastel Like Effect
    by OhThatGirl2001
I was fooling around with the sketch technique and fell upon this. I'm still refining it, but I think it has potential.

The first thing I did was duplicate my image. With the duplicated image selected I chose to Select-All, then Image-Adjust-Invert. Following the method of Sketch technique...

    Hello Retouchers,

Nice to find this forum. I've spent my day hemming and hawing over an image and would love to have input on. My primary photo retouching is done on digital images that I have taken of jewelry. I am relatively new to this but have enough experience to make a pleasant...

    Okay Doug,

I played with "green" today. Was thinking about the symbolism of green this morning. Didn't have the foggiest idea what I was going to do as an image.

Let's see, green is fertility, spring, plants, nature, prosperity, money, it is jealously or inexperience...and...
