    Saturation: down.

    It also seems like they pulled some luminosity form the blue channel.

        Saturation down as stated. It looks a bit dark overall. Also there are other adjustments. Highlights in skin were obviously adjusted there, and that is its own thing. I really don't see anything mysterious here.

            You start with a similar image to get a similar result. If you want your image greener, adjust color with curves or color balance or hue/sat, selectively if needed.

              I would probably end up doing it in channel mixer, but it can be a bit finicky. Sometimes you have to use a few tools. This also requires the ability to analyze what the image is doing rather than expect it to be just a matter of moving sliders. You haven't really posted anything showing your own steps or where you're stuck. Also keep in mind those highlights are obviously painted to some degree, even if they used auto selection tools, they were selected separately.

                @Klev: The attachment is relatively of high res, would you mind take a stab at it and show us how it should be done. After all, the OP included the original. Thanks

                  Perhaps later. I'm looking at it on a notebook display right now. I have it open. I matched the saturation to see what he meant by not being able to get the greenish silver look. Greenish is just a matter of the amount of magenta. At that point I lost interest for now, but I can say just doing that, several of the highlights are too dull. A couple could probably be achieved by auto selection and bringing them up a bit. I gave it a quick try with auto selection tools, as my tablet isn't plugged into this machine. It didn't turn out that well. I would probably do more of it with a brush. The shadow around the cheekbone would also have to come down. Eyes would have to come up a bit in whites and highlights. Lips would need to be tuned slightly. I think when he says silvery, he could probably get that by making sure the highlights aren't too saturated after adjustment. Maybe I'll come back to it, but without actually masking and painting, my version wouldn't communicate much. That would also be why I mostly type. Typing doesn't take anywhere near as much time when I'm doing something else.

                  Edit: I would probably have to sharpen it slightly as well (I do mean slightly). The reason for that is that a couple small to medium sized details like freckles suggest that treatment on the final.

                      What do you mean? It's more tedious than difficult, and I don't know that I could even do it from a trackpad.

                        Maybe you can begin to remove the red with frequency separation and then, the LAB mode could be a more easy way. But like skoobey said, you need to begin with the same kind of picture.

                          Re: another how to get this skintone

                          This one is too sterile to my taste and overdone in dodge and burn, but anyway.

                          The way I usually do these kind of treatment is:
                          * Mask the skin first
                          * New Black & White layer blended Multiply, boost yellows up to something around 200, keep reeds in midrange
                          * Create a curve to boost both lows and highs well
                          * Hue/Saturation to bring the overall saturation down (I usually do it the other way round but this time is different) and mess within a specific color (i.e. Red)
                          * That's about it, dodge and burn and fine tune to taste.

                          That way I get the rough outline in like 2-3 minutes and fine tune everything whilst shaping the skin in dodge & burn. Saves a lot of time and gives a nice visual reference.
