Hy.Was just asking my self how you achive this chromatic from this photo.I try something with brushes, color balance, selectiv colors but dont manage to get anywhere close to this
You can do that in many ways, you can move the curves seprately in Red, Green and Blue channel. Move the starting and ending point down or up and see the look you like. You can play also with Selective Color layer with Neutrals or also Channel Mixer...and so on. Play with masks as well to have more controlled final look.
You can clip blacks also in the selective color panel. ;-)
Skoobey,i dont understand what you mean by "Selectively clip blacks".do you mean in curves or levels and play with RGB line?
Well I was hoping for a better start. My own approach would probably involve channel mixer, although there are other ways to handle it. If you have trouble with this kind of color convergence, try changing to 32 bit first, then using channel mixer. It should ease the process a bit. With anything involving cars, plan on masking out the car paint. It's quite important if you want good results. I don't think you want so much of an overlay of one color, but I also think that background needs some work. The lighting itself doesn't draw you to the subject.
I meant, use a couple of clipping adjustments, as what will make something nera black clip, it won't affect things that are lighter quite that much, so you make and mask a separate adjustment for those areas. Now that everything you wnat black is black, simply add a global adjustment like curves and lift the black point up.
Granted, there are many ways to achieve things in Photoshop, however, for this particular look, Luminosity masks are your only friend! You have 10 channels to play with along with "blend-if".

Sometimes it's hard to help because one is not sure people are focusing on the same aspects of an image: mood, color, blacks, saturation, contrast, lighting, etc.
Where do you feel you've failed? If someone else posted this as an example for you what would you tell them it lacks, or that you do or don't like about it?
