allright guys, im not talking about the skin texture or dodge and burn here. its simple. just talk about the clothing color correction/lighting/high contrast etc.
how to get this type of punchy color grading ?

A hell of a lot of it is done in-camera. If I see correctly it's a studio flash setup used on location, large diffuser to fill in the shadows and then a smooth fill in strobe from the back to give a subtle glow on the neck etc. The thing with using strobes on location is that they often produce 'dramatic' light and you have to crank them up real good to balance the background (lighten it up). Also, it's F/16 on H5D which is pretty much the best you can get on digital in terms of sharpness and dynamic range.

As per @insmac's, it is the subject separation from the background that is also contributing to the overall look. It is the light setup, then the lens settings.

Then i will try this with F/16 and see how it will perform, but i am not sure if i should use same lens of 80mm, or better i use the Macro lens?

I also think that combination of a strong camera and that kind of contrasty lighting will give similar results or closer, then it is not a big deal with little retouch after, wish i my daughters were grown up or adults then i can post their shots here.

At F/16 it does not really matter - you'll have a razorsharp picture anyway.

At least 75% of this look comes from lighting. It's funny because most of the time photographers look for a balance between strobe and natural light. In this case something which is often regarded as a disadvantage of using flash on-location is actually much appreciated.

You might even go with a Speedlite on tripod but in that case you'd need some kind of a diffuser to smooth it out. Like this: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_62xRsTPp8J...0/IMGP3210.jpg

Play around with exposure - you'll get there after a few times.

I will not use speedlites at all, i have strobes or studio lights ad they are there to be used, but not sure what i should use as modifiers or diffusers, softboxes or beauty dish or anything else?

I know i can get razor sharp without f/16, i can get sharp even at f8 or f/9, but no harm to go for more stop down.
