Hi,

how would you describe the look and tones of this image? http://www.mrsirio.com/files/gimgs/3_sirio34.jpg

The sky seems desaturated. How about the rest? It was probably shot on film.

I'm not sure it was shot on film. In fact I don't think it was in spite of the similar banding pattern. If you're looking for an easy way to get close, I would try VSCO. It's not perfect, but they do a lot of looks that would be closer than you would get with little effort. The image is dark overall. shadows appear underexposed, which allowed for the nice detail in the white shirt. If you wanted the shadows to look right, those brightly lit patches would be way overexposed. Saturation isn't high overall, but it appears to have been color corrected. It was shot in the afternoon judging by the slant of the shadows.

There is a problem in brightness firstly then I guess the adjustment of lighting is needed here! Its looking dark!

You're not asking this in a way that could lead to a meaningful answer. You posted some work. You should post your current attempts and list the steps taken in addition to reference or work that inspired them.

Right now you'll get responses that are somewhat formulaic, because that's the best anyone can do with that information.
