Re: How to get this type of retouching????
create psd file with two layers.
- Top layer: source image.
- Bottom layer: 100% solid white.
- Lower opacity of top layer till you get the effect you desire.
- you may add adjustment layer or two or ten on the top of the source image to manipulate contrast, most likely to soften it.
- you may (before adding additional adjustment layers) apply the Blend-If command on the source layer, play with the light and dark sliders by splitting the arrows. You may allow the effect to affect only lights or darks for totally different look.
By using different color other than white, you would get different result of course.

But still i get a good advice from you about soften the image (Y)
I can personally point out a lot of things he would have required to reach that result. I could attempt to achieve a similar impact using different images. It would not to figure out precisely what steps he took, because there are too many places to veer off track. It would also make too many assumptions about his goals vs my own goals. I use more layers initially to tune different parts of an image, but I fold them into a smaller number of adjustments whenever possible.

I think the way you suggest is possibly the best suggestion I've ever seen for anyone who wants to avoid really dissecting things. It's good, because it might take them to a result they actually like. I break things down into pieces, and it's hard to give someone a really good overview of the thought process without many in depth examples.

Hello all again,
I had a question about using non-destructive layers when doing beauty retouching. I recently viewed the .psd file by Godmother [amazing for you to share]. One thing i noticed is the amount of layers being used. Every time I retouch a picture, I find my self flattening...-
