  • Best Skin Texture ever. How can I do it?

    Hello everyone
I'm attaching my skin retouching goal, found it on behance :

    https://www.behance.net/gallery/40767103/Aestus-Magazine-De-Cendres-et-de-Lumiere

Does anyone know how to make this kind of skin texture?
I guess it's made adding noise, but what else? Maybe applying some curves - hue-saturation over the noise layer? I love the "micro highlights" over pores

I hope your skilled eyes could answer to me

It's not just bad, it's very bad retouching.

ok maybe it isn't so cool as it seems at first sight. But still I would like to know the tecnique to achieve that skin texture. I like that grainy effect

Bad? Definitely not bad, if anything it is very good.

They skipped on some things like peach fuzz clean up and over-sharpened(which is what OP likes, I guess; I think it makes the skin look messy and crunchy, almost sand paper like). And that's your answer, btw, sharpen. A lot.

so don't you think that was added noise as well?

If it will be noise it will be everywhere. Look at the hole on her forehead.

Go to any image ,apply noise and see if this is it. The answer is no. It's sharpening, not noise. Hard light=more texture. And then a lot of sharpening.

It's not noise. As others have mentioned it is over-sharpened. You can see individual pore shapes, so obviously a lot of detail was resolved in camera.

Personally I prefer to go with less sharpening. I wouldn't personally clean up every bit of peach fuzz. It's easier to start with the largest pieces and continue on with smaller and smaller ones until it's no longer a distraction. If you do this carefully, the results are likely to look more natural than those obtained by obliterating every last hair.

No. Once you see enough of these, you'll be able to tell the difference.

I think the cleanup is overdone in some areas. The lip lines in those images really bother me. They aren't clean at all. It's possible that the OP likes this due to the color palette and because they're fairly dramatic. I don't personally care for them.

It's saturation map. You can see bad makeup cloning better this way.

That makes sense now. I googled the company mentioned as having done the post work. Some of it looks very nice, but the details on these (flat spots here and there, uneven lip lines, etc) bugged me.
