Before and After.

Hi guys,

Here is an image from a workshop I held with father and son, they were both keen photographers and wanted me to teach them how to use flashes.
Long story short, I was just going through the images they captured and found, the image I'm sharing here, one of them quite interesting (to my eye at least) - and here is my show off, bit of retouching I did on it.

Could use more local color adjustments, and camera left under eye should retain original quality, ti looks too soft. Same goes for the forehead. The over-sharpening creates a white streak in the lips ,and lips in general could be adjusted so that the mouth is fully closed.

Overall, very nice work! To my eye, the skin texture was made a bit too smooth in these areas:

His skin has many oversaturated areas on the left.

I agree with reducing the magenta cast in the original file, but the final is a bit too green. Most people don't look their best against a greenish background, especially in a classic portrait setup.

I took your originals and did some blending to reduce the contrast and add some minor detail back to the blurred skin and used a curve to adjust the color.
