  • removing rim light from a subject

I need to create a composite and place a person behind a model that was shot with a red rim light. Of course, to be believable, I need to remove that rim light since it wouldn't have been there if there was a person behind. So my question is : how would you remove such a rim light on the jacket, hair and skin in a believable way ? Thanks!

The "believable" part will depend on skin tones on this model's face and also the skin tones of the person to be composited in. As for the red rim light, you can remove that by desaturating reds in a hue/saturation adjustment layer (1). If you also need to reduce the luminance of the rim light, you could use a curves adjustment layer (with a selection to protect the background luminance) (2).

Try to use smart light bulbs for such activities, which will help you greatly simplify your task. For example, the fact that they can build a much more pleasant and soft light, which will be displayed much more correctly in photos, without glare and reflections. That is why you should look for high-quality smart light bulbs. Personally, I ordered these using the website https://www.vont.com/product/vont-bu...bs-smart-bulbs /. It was a great decision, so I can confidently recommend them to you.

          Hi

I am working on a composite of an athlete against a grungy background. The athlete is lit with two hard light sources from behind and a fill light from the front.

I want to composite him into a background which has two light sources above him to the left and right (see...

          Simulating candle light
          by mcdronkz
This shot was lit with a single strobe, but I figured it would be nicer to make it look like it was lit with a candle light.

However, it seems a bit harder than I imagined it to be. The shadows on the faces of the parents are not that hard to figure out, but the rest is...

          Hello All.

Hope you can help. Im not sure out of the limited techniques I have how to go about removing the distracting light (you will see) in the image. Id like to correctly remove it and learn at the same time how you would go about it.
