  • Patching scratches

I hope this is of interest.

I've been using the quickmask selection method to paint over a scratch, come out of quickmask mode and use the patch tool in source mode to move the selection away from the scratch.

By brushing over the scratch you can get much smaller selections and patch from quite close to the original area.

If there is a light scratch on a dark area it also helps to overpaint the scratch with an appropriate colour before patching.

Not as fast as selecting a large patch but gives good results.

Looking for some help with the patch tool.

Love the thing but I keep running into the same problem.

If I use the dust & scratch fillter it does a great job on the wall, but the scratch through the eye is unaffected. I tried using the the clone tool but the areas adjacent to the scratch...

      Patch tool assist
      by fstr21
Diggin the patch tool and all but I dont like how it has the smudging property of the heal, I would rather sometimes have a harder brush for the tool. I found no setting, so is the only work around clone?

      question on healing tool
      by pjb
When you are using the healing tool and get close to the edge of one object and try healing but it leaves a black or white mark. Like on a face next to the hair line. What can be done to help stop this? I have tryed using the lasso around the object but you can't always get right on the mark. Any suggestions...
