        pic tooo big

Sorry, I'll get better at resizing, etc. Although, after submitting and rechecking I don't like what I see, so I guess critiques are in line. (I already know the one about 'don't quit your day job')Thanks.

Excellent job, Gail! The only thing I'm noticing is some very hard shadows around the heads that you might consider softening/lightening.

As for the vignetting - check out the tutorials. I wrote one on vignetting and it's a technique that lets you use any shape you want.

Thanks Jak - I cloned out the hard shadows as part of the extraction figuring the built in ones were better than me manufacturing them in drop shadow, but then the orig was so dark that I suppose somehow they should be softened - AND, I will look in tutorials for the vingette info. Thanks all again for all the help on the RED EYE.

              elliptical tool

Just a note on the elliptical tool for encircling the eyes to then do whatever with - it kept saying something about not enough cells probably to do anything with...wouldn't hold so I could use it to adjust the color. As I think outloud, could I perhaps enlarge the picture proportionately (resize) and then do the correction and then resize down again. Will try later.
