After our previous show with Chris Alvanas, several viewers commented on how inspiring they found his painterly HDR techniques. I'm pleased to announce that was only the beginning.
On our next all-new RetouchPRO LIVE, Chris will show us his black and white techniques for HDR. As with his previous show, this is not nearly as straightforward as you might expect.
From Chris:
"This is pushing HDR and tone mapping outside its normal confines. The detail that is brought out along with the thinking process involved when processing this are all huge factors in making this a compelling advanced addition to advanced HDR and tone mapping. The discussion will include a brief review of the finer points from the last session, then processing techniques beyond tone mapping and moving into using the black and white palette to get yet another look all together. I will also discuss why an image makes a good candidate for B&W and what to consider when capturing the images."
Chris Alvanis is Director of Photography at Boston University’s Center for Digital Imaging Arts in Washington DC.
Saturday, September 24, 4pm CDT (see link below for other time zones)
