Re: Photoshop 3D Navigation - Steve Caplin
Will do. Have not come across it as yet in this video but will no doubt do so. Even in SU, centering those darn things is dicey unless you go to the overhead view, so interesting to see how this one plays out.

Re: Photoshop 3D Navigation - Steve Caplin
Thanks Doug... I am experimenting, and was able to locate the view menu by selecting the "current view" layer. Think I'll finish both videos and THEN whine if I have a problem. SketchUp seems like child's play so far next to this, but with all things new, it takes a while to get the hang of it I am sure.
Cheers.

Re: Photoshop 3D Navigation - Steve Caplin
I'm glad you're enjoying the shows. And congrats on the yule haul!
Steve uses a very high screen rez (2500 or so horizontal) so he might have more screen space than you do. As long as you're using CC he shouldn't have anything available you don't.
Perhaps this reference will help.

Photoshop 3D Navigation - Steve Caplin
Hello Doug and Steve,
Spending a brilliant first Sunday in January 2016, looking at the titled webinar. Santa and my family all pooled their resources and managed to get me a new 27" iMac - yipee - for my Xmas and end of December birthday.
Prior to this I have not been able to use the 3D features in PS as I did not have enough VRAM. I have been using Sketchup for a number of years and which I am quite comfortable with. Excited to try PS's 3D capabilities though, therefore I am checking them out while being entertained by you two, but having a wee problem, as my tools do not seem to match what Steve has on his screen?
For example, I have paused the video to type this, as now that the battle re the ground plane is overand we on to viewing the text from different camera angles, I cannot even find a camera view button on my interface! Has this changed since the video was recorded?
Right - back to the viewing and then to "Fabrication". Happy New Year to you both and looking forward to lots more in 2016.Tags: None

by Doug NelsonIt seems like no matter what 3D software I'm using, even Photoshop, I can't navigate worth spit. Am I just stupid, old, or am I missing some crucial bit of information?
Everything always starts out promising. I move an object up and down and rotate it. Then I do the same with the camera....-

This one is called "2 Minute Photoshop" and aims to eventually be a comprehensive Photoshop guide in 2 minute increments. Give it a look, you know if Steve's involved it must be worthwhile.
