This tutorial was long overdue and one we all will need at one time or another.

I knew you weren't all out of tutorial techniques. There is a *big* difference between the before and after. Thank you very much. I won't comment on all the new tutorials except to say that they're all first class, and very useable. Thanks for helping fill my new hard drive with tuts.

Great job on this tutorial Jak.

I gave it a try and was able to clean up the boy’s acne and maintain his skin texture without adding too much softness.

I tried this technique to retouch acne. I did everything as laid out in the tutorial - even the mask to eliminate the blotching.

It looks great on the screen but when I had it printed (on pro equipment), you see a redish uneveness to the finished image. It's almost like a very slight posterization effect.

Any ideas as to how to eliminate this problem?

            thanks,

              Jack,

I didn't have any problems with mine when I printed it out - it looked just like it did on the screen.

What equipment did you have it printed on? Can you post a sample of what you ended up with? What was your final resolution? What file type did you send to the printer?

Not sure if I can figure out what went wrong for you, but I can give it a shot.

I'll be out of town for the rest of the week but can have a look when I get back...

                Retouching Acne

Yep, we've all seen 'em. Heck, most of us have been IN 'em. Those horrible, teenage pictures where our faces look like they've been set on fire and then put out with an ice pick. Fortunately, we usually outgrow the problem. Unfortunately, the photographs of us at that age don't. Here's the permanent cure [details]
