      Thanks Doug!!

      I found out what the problem was .... Netscape (7.2) ...
      Once I switched to IE 6 ....it worked like magic.....

      (the browser's 'Gremlins'???)

        Kudos Flora! This is an excellent tutorial giving the viewer not one, but three different approaches! Although this is not an end in itself, it sure makes it much easier to get results. With the screenshots, if someone can't follow this one, it's surely not your fault. Gimme more!!

                  Bringing Back the Detail of a Severely Faded Signature
                  by ajcutler
                  Normally we restore photographs of people and places; however, we may also encounter a document that needs to be restored. Document restoration may involve restoration of handwriting, including signatures.

                  This tutorial is about restoring a very faded signature from a document. Be advised,...

                  Faded Photo - not sure if it's good enough
                  by dianajenna
                  I posted this picture in the Restoration forum ("Very faded old photo - any ideas?") several days ago and got some good suggestions and help. I've reworked it now and would like to see what you guys think. As you can see from the original photo it is very faded and the surface is cracked...

                  Need suggestions on how to work on this
                  by jeaniesa
                  A client has given me a photo that's about 30 years old and that has been displayed without protection from the light for all those years. It was a color photo at one time, but the faded area looks closer to black and white now. That would be workable if it weren't for the large area that was behind...

                  This is my first post, please go easy on me ;
                  I found an old photo of my grandfather (one of only a few of him). I started to write his name on the back until I realized there was some faded writing that I had almost written over. I have been unable to make it legible. His name was Leland Stanford...
