          Look into the Samsung 2443BWX.

Just bought one for $349 at the local Costco and I'm very happy, even still several members here recommended against the brand due to reliability issues.

I really don't want to sound mean or dismissive, but to be brutally honest it is virtually impossible to achieve truly hi-end, professional results using a $300-400 monitor.

Sorry to disappoint, but you really need to be looking at an Eizo ColourEdge or equivalent if you really are serious about retouching at that level.

Re: Which Monitor for Professional High End Retouc

Well Eizo ColourEdge is best but It's not affordable at present. So I'm thinking about Samsung Samsung 2443BWX 24" LCD suggested by FRANK LOPES . which have 160 degree Angle, 1000:1 Contrast Ratio. I do not know much about configurations.

will it work for me ?

The angle of view and contrast ratio (among other things that seem to be important to monitor manufacturers) are irrelevant - I assume you will not be conducting all your retouching whilst sitting at a 160 degree angle to your monitor!

The one specification upon which you should base your purchase is COLOUR GAMUT. The closer the monitor can get to representing the full Adobe RGB colour gamut the better.

Unfortunately, the only manufacturer I know that actually provides colour gamut information is Eizo, though I may well be wrong.

I have a ViewSonic, that I purchased a little over a year ago, and have been quite happy with it. I calibrate with Spyder. ViewSonic has been around quite a number of years, and have always had good quality monitors. They are worth checking out.

I'm away from my home setup for a couple weeks and I need something decent to do a bit of retouching and processing with. I'm hopping it will be relatively affordable considering I'm probably going to give it away on my departure.

I'm thinking an LCD or LED monitor. At home I have a 2...

monitor - which brand to choose
                        by pavel123
I would like to ask for advice on which brand of monitor would be a better choice for graphic work. Available locally are: Acer, Gateway, HP, Samsung, Optiquest, Asus. Prices vary somewhat depending on the brand, and it is not immediately obvious why.
I suppose ordering from Dell is an option...

Hi, It has been a few years since anyone has posted any recommendations on monitors for retouching. I was wondering what people's current recommendations are?

I'm currently using an iMac, 5k, retina 27", late 2015, calibrated with colormunki, as my main monitor. I know Apple monitors...

                        Hi all,

I'm thinking about buing this one to attach like a second monitor on my laptop (Sony Vaio). It's about 280 euros, of course it's not a Eizo but reading the tech info it seems to be a very good monitor.
