  • TIP: monitor color change

When restarting your monitor after a power-down it takes up to a half hour for the display colors to stabilize. This is true whether you use the off switch, or it just goes into power-saving mode.

Screensavers don't affect it, though (anything that keeps the pixels energized)

Interesting tip Doug and one I never heard before. I guess I will have to make sure I don't do any color correcting until it's been on awhile from now on.

I didn't realize that either. I wonder how many people made corrections, then wondered why it just didn't look right later in the day. Good tip!

I notice the color is slightly different on the external monitor when I am running in clamshell mode vs dual displays (macbook pro & Dell). When I am in...

        De-gaussing your monitor
        by Craig Walters
this kind of goes hand in hand with the calibrating your monitor thread. however, it's not quite as critical and doesnt usually need to be done as often. still, it can make a difference.

now, someone brighter than myself can try to explain what de-gaussing means and how the need for this...

        by sandovalphoto
Hey guys I recently got the NEC Multisync P221W and I've been calibrating it with the eye one match software But I've Noticed that colors look oversaturated, meanwhile they look "better" on my other monitor (crappy Dell) .
