  • Anyone here use Gry Garness ebooks?

I'm looking into the CS5 Digital Retouching ebook from Gry Garness. I've never purchased any retouching ebooks or videos before.

What I'm interested in knowing before purchasing is:

    1. In the ebooks, does she actually teach how to achieve work like the images in the cover itself? Or it's just methods and hints throughout the book but not following a step-by-step route?

    2. Anyone have work of how your retouching was before and after learning from the ebook(s)?

If you have any recommendations on ebooks too, that'd be great!
It's not written in stone, I'm open for any educational ebook, but if you know of any great step-by-step ebooks that you can work along with as you read it, that'd be neat. Share with me!

I don't have her ebooks but I have her videos. I really like her methods and the way she teaches

I've posted sample pages from a few of her older ebooks on my site. Visit the Developers page and look under "Gry Garness".

Speaking of books, I have a bunch of older Photoshop-related books on ebay right now.

I don't have her ebooks but I have her video and I've rented her RTP live shows.

For $15 you can watch her retouch. It's not like she's holding anything back:

The perfect combination IMO would be to watch the Gry Garness DVD which is truly the best out there and then buy Krunoslav Stifter's DVD on Dodge and Burn. I find ebooks less motivating to work with, plus it's easier to get a grasp of what is going on if you actually see it being done.

I have both the DVD and the eBooks.

I would say they complement each other. They follow from start to finish.

Yes, she gives hints, but all within the workflow.
