    I have a copy, but have read only a little so far. It has some really good tips and some standards. Take the book. It could shine some light on something you didn't know. I've liked what I've read so far.

        I've got it, too...

        Many eye-opening / skill building techniques; lots of variety. Most are useful vs. some books that have pages and pages of methods you'll never use. Step-by-step instructions with numerous screenshots of dialog boxes. Content applies to PS Elements as well as Photoshop.

        Used = cheaper than new. Go for it.

          Definitive PS booklist for newbies
          by Doug Nelson
          Everyone has their favorite books. I was thinking a thread with people recommending 3 books to be read, in order, by a newbie to Photoshop who wants to do R&R would be useful.

          Here's mine:

          books I have on how to learn to use Photoshop;

          Scott Kelby's 7-point system. This was the only one I had heard of so I started with it. Probably not the best book for beginning Photoshoppers but it does teach you a workflow for improving photographs. It's heavily into ACR so keep that...
