  • Magazines, Etc.

    By Amanda K. Jones on Monday, August 06, 2001 - 01:15 pm:

    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for good magazines that deal with photo restoration, graphics, imaging, computers, etc. I know the web is a treasure trove of information like this but nothing beats sitting down in your comfy chair with a good mag. I suppose I could go down to the bookstore and look them over myself but I was wondering if any of you fine folks out there had any suggestions.

Also, this may be a strange question, but is there any type of professional organization that deals with digital (or non-digital) photo restoration and retouching? If not, would it be worth starting one?? Just a thought.

    I read PEI regularly (peimag.com)
I subscribed to PC Photo, but it's about useless
Photoshop User is ok http://www.photoshopuser.com even though it mostly exists to flog NAPP and is kind of expensive (might be a good read at Borders with a nice Kona coffee)

I love but basically can't afford HOW, Step-by-Step, and several others. I spend a lot of time standing in Borders

    I'm a magazine junkie.

I agree about PCPhoto. All of a sudden alot of new magazines on digital photography seem to be sprouting up.There's a magazine from the UK that I like entitled What Digital Camera.I get it at Barnes&Noble whenever I see it and there's something in there of interest to me. They also have a website where they post some of the photographs in their magazine. Their url is www.what_digital_camera.com if your'e interested.
