Neat Image is a PC ONLY stand alone application.

There is the QuantumMechanic plug for Mac or PC from http://www.camerabits.com and the GrainSurgery plug for Mac or PC from http://www.visinf.com.

I highly recommend the free Photoshop 6 actions on offer from these two sources:

    http://www.digitalsecrets.net/secrets/denoiseISO.html

There are also commercial actions from Fred Miranda:

I purchased Neat Image and am impressed with it, although unless you have a fast processor it does run slow. It is excellent for removing targeted frequencies of noise and its sharpening algorithm is pretty good as well. But it is only useful if you have a lot of noise to clean up. I use it mostly to remove noise from negative scans and fast ISO rate equilivent digital photos. There are plans to make a PS plug in version although support for Mac doesnot yet appear to be on the Radar screen...too bad because it is a sophisticated program which is capable of fine detail specific noise type reduction and while not a vital tool, is very useful and for the low price, well worth every penny...just my opinion though. Hi all,

I am a newbie to the site so please forgive my incompetence. Moving right along, is there a trick to removing digital camera noise in images, without totally blurring them ? For example, see the attached image. This is a detail from a digital photo of a sunset that I took recently....

        Noise reduction...
        by inskip
plug-ins. Which is best? I've been trying to decide between Neat Image, Noise Ninja, and Noiseware. I was originally going to go with Neat Image but their Mac version is behind Windows, so I was a little discouraged by that. Also, it says to make a profile from a large area, do they all work this way?...

        Noise Ninja for Macintosh!
        by sjm
I've been waiting for eons for Neat Image to create a Mac version of their spectacular noise reduction software. Well, the wait it over! Not for Neat Image though. There is now a free beta version of Noise Ninja that appears to be just as powerful as Neat Image.

        I just downloaded...

        How to reduce camera noise?
        by SadonnaL
I am looking for a way to reduce camera noise in a few of my images. I photographed a wedding and when I thought I had decent lighting I didn't. Now after adjusting levels and such I am having high camera noise. Is there a plug in or steps to do in Photoshop CS3 that I can do to correct this problem....
