  • Using Elements stitcher in PS

    I hadn't heard of this before, and I know many of you own both Elements and Photoshop (plus Elements is so inexpensive this might be worth buying it just for this), so I asked for permission from Daryl Pritchard to repost this.

    For those who don't know, Elements has an excellent panorama stitcher called Photomerge. It's frequently listed as perhaps the only thing PS users might be jealous of in Elements.

    Photomerge does indeed work as a automation plug-in for both PS6 and PS7. For those who have PE and wish to add Photomerge to PS6 or PS7, the following files are needed, with placement into the paths given (PS7 used in example):

    PhotomergeAuto.8li ==>

    Copy from ...\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\Plug-Ins\Automate
    Copy to ...\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\Plug-ins\Adobe Photoshop Only\Automate

    PhotomergeUI.8BF and PhotomergeRender.8BF ==>

    Copy from ...\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\Plug-Ins\Filters
    Copy to ...\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\Plug-ins\Filters

    You can now uninstall Elements

    Note that these filters are copyrighted by Adobe, and you should not use them if you aren't a registered owner of Elements, and should never share them for any reason.

    However, I see that when working in Elements, I can't pull guides from the rulers, which is something...

    Elements Dilemma?
    by tjsgarden
    I'm not sure what to do. I am on a restricted budget. I want to get Elements and I also want to upgrade my scanner.
    I can get a CanonScan D1250 U2F scanner with Elements 1.0 included and Richards book for about the same price as Elements 2 by itself.
    I use Windows 98 and have a serious...
