  • PS CC for $9.99/month

Someone at DPR's Retouch forum shared this. I decided to freeze my updates at CS5 (GIMPer I am; only updated when it made sense for me but it's getting rediculous that they require an update for each version), but more then many here use PS so thought it may be of interest. Believe you have to have CS3 or new to get this deal, but again, do your own research.

I got the deal with no previous version necessary. So far so good.

You might still consider purchasing a permanent license for CS6 while it is still available. The reason is that the "rentware" model has no acceptable disengagement conditions. So at some point in the future if you are forced to discontinue your subscription, your version of CC ceases to function. If you do not have an older version of PS you will not be able to open any .psd or other Adobe proprietary files that you have saved. Which means you will need to save all your PS CC work as jpg or tiff.

Thanks Murray, I'll keep that in mind if I keep using it. I'm just a hobbiest so spending that much money doesn't make fiscal sense

I've used Photoshop Elements in the past so if I need a more permanent solution, I can get it for $79 in the MacOS App Store. It a version behind, but the last version I had was 3, so the jump to v.11 will be astronomical and the difference between 11&12 won't matter.

Without Layers (or better, a flattened version) IF you wish to process outside Adobe's proprietary Layer's based technology.

            Photoshop 6 Upgrade question
            by DJ Dubovsky
When you upgraded to Photoshop 6, did you just intall it with the previous versions? Or did you uninstall the previous versions? I have 6.04 coming in the mail and I remember having trouble trying to remove 5.0 when I got 5.5. So I have both on the drive but only use 5.5. I would like to get rid...

            Pphotoshop 7 Upgrade
            by COLONELFLAG
I just UPGRADED from PS 6.01 to PS 7 using an upgrade CD. When all as complete PS 7 was installed and working but the old version (PS6.01) remained. Can I just remove it from the system without affecting the new version ?

            Thinking of Switching to PS
            by feivel
I have resisted this for a while but I'm thinking of switching to PS from PSP (one reason is so that i can save time on forums by typing 2 letters instead of 3).
I really am very very hesitant about shelling out $600 which is more than my camera cost. So....

            What I really need...

            From PS to iPhoto
            by jarulex
            Hello Folks!
most of my pics are elaborated or need to be elaborated in PS but I wish to see them in all my terminals (laptop, iPad etc) trough iCloud, so I guess I should save them in iPhoto, but how to operate?
I heard about an Adobe Cloud, but how it work? Some suggestion?
            Thanks...
