    To put a selection on its own layer –
    Press control / Command –J.
    Hold the Shift key when doing this to remove the selection from the original layer. Hold the Alt/Option key to name the layer as you create it.

    1. Merged layer, 100% opacity, blend=normal
    2. Hue/saturation adjustment layer, 100% opacity, blend=normal
    3. Background (original image, completely filled w/pixels. No transparancy anywhere within the BG layer.)

    how do i prevent this shitty function, that everytime i duplicate a layer that's in a clipping-stack, all the layers above jump out of the group

    hope there is a way (even if the way means to use an alternate way of duplicating the respective layer)
