Hi:
I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place, but since the previous "Virus" thread was posted here, I thought it was best not to change.
In the original thread, Gary warned us not to download stuff from unknown or dangerous sites. However, I'm wondering...

by RydiantI've developed a series of actions that produce effects like some commercial plugins. Because the quality of output compares well (and in some ways surpasses what's already out there,) I think users would be willing to pay for the actions at a fraction of the cost of a plugin alternative.

by GaryGornelliHi, I was discussing brushing up work to show clients the results at shoots and was told that some photographers run a few actions. Curves, smoothing/sharpening etc. Do any of you? What are they?

by SandaAfter a recent hard drive crash and replacement I had to reinstall Photoshop 6. I've reinstalled all of my plugins and actions ect. All seemed to be working fine but today I needed to use an action for the first time since the reinstall and to my amazement discovered that my actions pallet won't...09-18-2002, 04:26 PM

For me it worked fine when I tested on CS5 (under Windows 10), so not sure what the issue is on your system (but it's clear that it's not seeing/loading the plugin files).
Make sure you are launching the correct version (if you have installed both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Photoshop, it could be that you accidentally are starting the 32-bit version without noticing). Also check that you copied the Windows-plugins (.8bf) and not the Mac-plugins (.plugin).

Hi Chain and Ronc,
I have photoshop CS5.1 running on window 10. I regetsered last night, watched your tutorial video then downloaded Pattern Suppressor V2.5zip today.- Copied dll-file in: C:\Program Files\Adobe\ Photoshop CS5.1 (64 Bit)\
- Copied the six plugin-files into: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS5.1 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins\Filters\
- Start Photoshop.
- Opened a file with repeated patterns.
- Load actions.
Is it because Pattern suppressor doesn't work on SC5.1 or I did something wrong? What shall I try next? Thanks!

CS3 is a very old version and it is likely not compatible with the plugins. CS4 is untested, but I know they work in CS5.
Anyway, loading the action should work fine, and happen automatically when you double-click the action file. It's just a single file (.atn). If it does not appear in the actions panel when you doubleclick the atn-file, just load it through the panel menu (top right corner of the actions panel).
To run the actions successfully, you need the filters (plugins) installed. Otherwise the action will fail when it tries to use it (likely saying something like "the command 'filter' is not available").
If the plugins/filters don't appear in CS3 after you put them in the plugins-folder and restart Ps then it would mean they are not compatible. The only solution would be to update to a Ps-version from the last decade – or volunteer to code a CS3-version of the plugins yourself. ;D

Thank you Ron & Chain! it works like magic. Cannot thank you enough. I can confirm this works fine on a Mac using a 64bit version of PS CC 2019 ver 20.0.1

I see there is a bug on the website; it sends you to download *both* v2 and v2.5 (that includes the Mac plugins). Make sure you use the 2.5 one. :=)
Not sure why it is happening, but I will get it fixed.
Edit: It's fixed now.Last edited by Chain; 11-19-2018, 10:06 AM.

On the Mac that file is contained in each *. plugin file so the update to PS wouldn't effect the programs. You should have six *. Plugin files not *. 8bf files on the Mac. Do you have have *.plugin files or *. 8bf files??
Looks like you got the Windows version . I'll go see how it is setup to get the Mac version and come back to you.

Thank you Ron and I apologize that I forgot to mention that I am using it on a Mac and I don't believe the dll file works on a mac. Is that correct? I saw something in the thread about downloading the Mac version but the website only shows one version to download. Please let me know if that is not correct. and thank you for the response.
