    Photoshop CS File Browser

    I've a Minolta D 7Hi. The new File Browser in Photoshop CS can see (as images) some of my untouched RAW (MRW) images, and others, it shows only a nondescript icon. Once I've opened the RAW image, though, the File Browser then shows the RAW image correctly (as a picture). What's wrong at first?

    I have tried searching here but can't seem to find the answer -

    I have in the past opened a RAW file in PS, but if course I know that all RAW is not the same. I have downloaded the DNG converter and the RAW 2.4 update, and I still can't seem to open .cr2 files. Is it even possible...

    I want to know if anyone has used a photoshop RAW extension, you know... save as... photoshop RAW...

    Is it reliable? i've always worked with TIFF, PSD or JPG images when i give back a retouched final image and someone asked me to give back a RAW file, so i searched and i only found that...

    It's my understanding that no changes to a RAW (NEF, in my case) file are permanent. I see that I can change the crop and various adjustments. Is there a way to undo all changes, so that I'm back with the original settings?

    I would like to ask for opinions on RAW file converters. Any considerable advantages of using third party software vs Adobe Camera RAW? If so, what would you suggest? Reviews seem to have different views on this.
