  • Photoshop channels and cloning: Explanation needed

I was using Window>Arrange>New Window to Use With Tutorial to smooth skin. I found that when I turned off the eye on say the Red and Blue Channel and used the Green Channel, the RGB image would reflect any changes I made with the Clone Tool. If, however, I simply selected the Green Channel, when I used the Clone Tool the RGB image would show the Green Color. Yet on the Channels Window the eye using either method would show on the green channel and not on the red and blue channel but with different results. Why?

Don't know if this question is clear enough or even if it's important but I would certainly appreciate an explanation.

    Thanks.

Retitled this thread and moved it to this forum for more visibility. (More "PS Q/A" related than "photo-art" related.)

Sorry I am unable to answer your question, but I bet someone more knowledgeable about channel ops will be able to address it.
