I am working at a customer site at the moment and using PS6. When using the polygonal lasso tool to draw a continuous line around angular shapes the pen jumps to close the line before I'm finished making the shape. Is there a box that needs ticking somewhere to disenable that 'feature'?

Re: Polygonal Lasso question
Hi Repairman - look at this thread and in particular post 19: https://forums.adobe.com/message/6157809
Not sure this is your issue yet sounds quite similar. Hope it helps.

Re: Polygonal Lasso question
That's VERY useful. I experienced this problem for a long time, and always thought that it was my clumsiness with the pen and tablet: accidentally clicking twice while only one click was meant, thus closing the lasso selection.
One odd thing though is, although the fix seems to help, I don't see the plugin name in the System Info dialog as Adobe indicates. Anyone else has the same experience?

Re: Polygonal Lasso question
Worked fine for me when installing on PS CC. In the Help > System Info the plugin was "near" the bottom, not exactly at the bottom.
Also, did you close Photoshop, then move the file to the correct location (including PS version folder) and then reopen PS?
-------------------
Not sure what problem you have as it worked on my end. Hope you find the root cause problem.

Re: Polygonal Lasso question
Yes, I followed the exact instructions but no matter what I try, the plugin doesn't show up in the System Info. To me it looks like Photoshop doesn't recognize this as a plugin, since other packages do have effect when I put them in the Plug-ins folder.
The following is in the System Info:
Required Plug-ins folder: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Required\
Primary Plug-ins folder: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins\
Additional Plug-ins folder: not set
I can set the Additional Plug-ins folder e.g. to C:\Temp, it gets other plugins from there but not the WhiteWindowWorkaround plugin.
The C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins\ folder contains the following:
FocalPoint 2.0.plugin
Panels
Perfect Effects 4.plugin
WhiteWindowWorkaround.plugin
Optional MultiPlugin.8BF
... and below is the bottom part of the System Info:
Optional and third party plug-ins:
ElectricImage 12.0
FocalPoint 2 2.0.9b
FocalPoint 2 Filter 2.0.9b
FocalPoint 2 Hidden NO VERSION
FocalPoint 2 Hidden NO VERSION
HSB/HSL 12.0
Perfect Effects 4 4.0
Perfect Effects 4 Filter 4.0
Perfect Effects 4 Smart Filter 4.0
Plug-ins that failed to load: NONE
Flash:
ZoomPanel
PPW_Tools_3_EN
PPW_3_HELP
PPW_3_Colors
onOne
EasyDodgeFullCS6
Mini Bridge
Kuler
Installed TWAIN devices: NONE
The installation of the plugin is so simple that not much can go wrong. There may be a difference between CC and PS6, but the plugin installation text doesn't mention that at all.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Polygonal Lasso question
John, that makes sense. I wasn't aware that the fix is for Mac only.
The only possible conclusion is that I sometimes accidentally click twice while creating a lasso selection. That happens only with the pen, never with the mouse.
I assume there is no way to disable that functionality... (double click finishing a polygonal selection). Maybe I should try to reconfigure my tablet to make it less sensitive.
Anyway, thanks for the help.

- Resetting the tool
- Restart PS
- Check to verify that you are not in a PS mode that uses Cmd + D for other uses (search in this link: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/usi...shortcuts.html)
- Resetting all tools
- Resetting Preferences
There is always the possibility there is some issue/interaction with the tablet driver if you are using one. Beyond the scope of what I can help with.
Hope you get this figured out.

by ikantempurHi there, I have a question about a certain tool or technique that may or may not exist in Illustrator cs4.
First I'd like to say, I'm not sure how to explain this, so I'll try my best.
I was wondering if there was a way to average or relax the points that make up a line or shape....-

by oiramWhen I am trying to crop a picture, I want to be able to crop the image with an adjustable size that I can chose myself using my mouse and cursor, almost like enlarging it in a free style way if that makes any sense. However the cropping options drop down box only gives me certain preselected size...
