  • how do I set my workspace size and have it stick

Ok, haven't been here in awhile. Hope this is in the right place.

My kid got me a brand new big screen iMac. And installed photoshop CS5 on it.
The thing is driving me crazy! With my old one, I could pull down the lower right corner of my work space so it is large, even if the image is small. This comes in handy when I need to enlarge a piece of a photo that is already larger than the document size I will need. I want to see those handles way off of the image ya know? But with this new version, every time I click off the thing or heck I don't know what I might click on, the damn thing snaps back to the size of the image.

I have been trying to find this on line. All I find is ways to arrange your workspace. But not this. My workspace is fine except for this one little thing.

Is there a way to perhaps save in preferences somewhere (not sure what this might be called.) And make my works space size what I set it to and keep it that way?

I think I know what you mean, but I'm not sure, so bear with me.

1st thing I'd try is trashing your Photoshop preferences, as the behavior you describe sounds wonky.

2nd hit the F key to cycle thru the viewing modes to see if you're used to working in a different one.

3rd, under the Window menu, toggle on/off the Application Frame and see if that makes a difference.

But if I'm understanding the situation correctly, I think deleting your preferences is the way to go.

To reset your preferences in Adobe Photoshop CS5

    Quit the application completely.
Get ready to hold down the Command, Option and Shift keys simultaneously.
Launch the application and then immediately hold down the Command, Option and Shift keys simultaneously.
If you have done this successfully you will see a pop-up message asking “Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings File?”
    Click “Yes”

That was the magic charm. I didn't try clearing prefs since so many in there I have set and don't want to lose. (I'd be in these forums a lot trying to get them reset. This version, as always, is slightly different. Oh WHY do they have to do that?)

Thanks. Worked perfectly. Easy peasy. IF you know what to click and where.

          Adjust 2.4 Window Size Defaults

          Eric,
I could be mistaken, but it seemed in the previous release Adjust would remember the size of it's window after I stretched it to fit my workspace. Now it does not, either in the same session or a newly opened session. It would certainly be nice if it would, even if it was not there in...

          Logitech, NuLOOQ Navigator. Review.

I suppose in a way you can call me a bit of a technophobe, new technologies are a bit scary. When I first plugged the Nulooq into the computer it lit up with little blue LEDs and I recoiled from it because I wasn't expecting it. I was excited that it had arrived and wanted to use it but was unsure...

          Resizing images for RetouchPRO
          by jeaniesa
Many people seem to have questions on how to resize images under the 100KB(*) limit needed to upload images to RetouchPRO. I wrote this a few days ago and since more questions are popping up, I thought I’d post it for everyone.

(*)Actually, the 100KB limit applies to the forums only....
