Hi Randy - Glad it worked, it is a bit easier than split/merge channels. <g> One could also use a duped image and the Apply Image command - as calculations/apply image/channel mixer are all kindred spirits.

Randy - is the channel mixer not suitable, it is quick and non destructive?
One can write the action to place a channel mixer adjustment layer with the appropriate channel swap, RGB > GRB for one action, etc.

Merge channel action
Hi all,
I have been trying to create an action for swapping channels. I am able to record "split channels", but when I merge channels it does not record. No amount of talking or pleading with the program seems to help
I'm using PS 6.01...thanks for any help.

by gmitchelI've upgraded the TLR Split Channels action set. It does a lot of the grunt work for advnced B&W conversion using the channels from color and grayscale photographs.
Take a color photo and you get up to ten layers and ten alpha channels with the infromation from RGB channels, CMYK...-
