  • Oil Painting from Photo!

Today we release the new program AKVIS ArtWork!
It converts your photos into realistic oil paintings. Whether an oil portrait or a landscape painting - the program will make your ideas a reality!
Even with the default settings you can achieve a realistic result coming very close to hand painted works.

        Yes, Diane,
we are working now on improving this program.
And we will add more presets.

        Best regards,

I bought a Home Deluxe license for Artwork, but it won't allow me to save my own presets. The only preset shown is "AKVIS Default" and the Save, Delete. and Reset buttons are gray and don't work.

          Why?

You probably don't change the parameters of photo (simplicity, stroke thickness, stroke density, etc.) Please try to do it and the buttons will become active. Don't forget to enter the name of presets to save them.

While you are on line, would you be so kind as to give me a default work through for a decent photo painting? Some samples and how the program was set up to do them would be nice.

I have yet to see this program do anything but smear the image I am trying to add a paint effect to.

I want to use it on not only original photos, but photos that have some work done on them to give them a few added paint strokes.

                Hi Steve!

                Please look at these examples:
                http://akvis.com/en/artwork-tutorial/examples/index.php

Usually our examples give settings they use.
I do especially love the last example (we received it from the customer) - "ArtWork Gallery". The pictures made by that guy look really amazingly. But he does not offer the exact settings.
The other tutorial are more helpful to understand how to use ArtWork. They offers the list of the used parameters.

Also we are going to release the new version (v.3.0) which will offer several ready-to-use presets, it will help you, I hope. It will be released soon, in September.
