I've been trying to work on Trimoon's painting technique and as a part of it, he has some presets that are loaded into Photoshop. He has them listed here

It looks like there are a few settings that are not in Elements (2). Am I missing where the settings are or can these be translated to Elements?

    Thanks,
    E.B.

I am just guessing as I haven't tried it, but you should be able to create a brush set in Photoshop and I'd imagine the settings will carry to Elements -- and that you'll be able to use the brushes with the Load feature.

Clearly direct access to those features has been curtailed. That usually doesn't mean you can't use them.

    That help?

The presets that he has for D/L have a tpl extension which doesn't match anything I can find in Elements. So, as far as I can tell, you can't directly load them.

        eb,

I'll see if I can figure out how to save a brush for you from the presets. If so, I'll post them here.

OK, I was able to save the brushes, but I'm not sure you're going to be able to load them into Elements. When I try to load them into Elements 1, I get an error about incorrect version numbers. Perhaps it will be different in PSE2 though, so I'm attaching them here.

Trimoon uses the Smudge brush at two different strengths. His preset for the "paint strokes" is set to 73%. For smoothing the edges, he changes the strength to 19%.

If this doesn't work, the only other thing I can think of trying is loading an image of the brush which you could then use "define brush" on. That won't get you all of the "jitter" settings though. That might be OK for the smudging technique, but it's critical for the watercolor brush.
