Re: Workflow improvements - linked smart objects
Currently I have a script to export, and I can use a previous PS document as a template which loads them in as the naming of most of the linked layers is consistent.
And whilst it is a bit convoluted the only real issue I have...

Re: Workflow improvements - linked smart objects
I figured best for me to upload some screen grabs, it gets a bit wordy trying to explain.
I'm rendering a multichannel vrimg file which I convert to a multichannel exr which when opened in PS looks like the first attachment....

Re: Workflow improvements - linked smart objects
Everything is rendered at the same time, including the RGB multimatte elements.
Even without passes the scenes can take a long time to render....

Re: Workflow improvements - linked smart objects
The only reason for not rendering full res (5000px longest dimension) off the bat is the time is takes for rendering - even when utilizing multiple computers.
So until the client has signed off the final version - it will be...

Re: Workflow improvements - linked smart objects
Skoobey - that is what I am currently doing
@ Klev - I agree it's a bit of a hack but up until now I've not found a better way that meets my needs. I could migrate to a nodal package but haven't done so yet. PS is working so...

Re: Workflow improvements - linked smart objects
By rendering 32bits you can simply edit that in PS. Meaning less test renders and faster output. You could use the photographer philosophy too but with 32bit you gain the flexibility where you can mix the two if required.

Re: Workflow improvements - linked smart objects
After re-reading my original post I get that I should have probably reworded it as it looks like I was looking to overhaul what I was doing - which I wasn't. Sorry if I was unclear.

Re: Workflow improvements - linked smart objects
With respect guys I don't want to get into a debate of whether you think I need to be working in 32bit or not.
I was simply asking for help on something specific.

Re: Workflow improvements - linked smart objects
I appreciate what you're saying but personally I find it's quicker to do a lot of my adjustments in post. Also the render engine works in 32bit so I'd rather keep the data and tonemap in PS.
The downside is the larger file...

Thanks for your reply - any ideas on the scaling of the linked smart objects?

Workflow improvements - linked smart objects
Hi
Wondering if someone can help me to refine my workflow?
Currently this is working:
1) Render half final resolution from rendering software - 32bit multichannel exr.
2) Open in PS and do some 32bit tweaks.
3) resize to final resolution. ...

Looking to pay someone to write a PS CC script
Need to extend functionality of export layers to files.
Need to export 16bit files with transparency.
Get in touch with your availability/rate if you can help or know where I could find someone.
Need to get this fairly quickly. Happy for you to extend functionality...

Re: Export layers to files
By any chance does anyone know the contact details for people who make the script in previous link?
Or anyone keen on some paid work to create a script to do the above.
