everytime I've tried to upload an image, I've never been able to. I would love to get it off my server space. I go to browse, make sure it is a jpg under 102400 but when I hit submit, but it never appears. I'm not trying for a free lunch or anything, just generally didn't think that people would be...

  • Thanks everyone for the comments and sorry I didn't get back to people earlier. This was one of those jobs that as I went through the job, I changed what I wanted to do with the image. Originally I just wanted to quickly play with techniques and get the bulk of the work done. As I was working on it,...

    G'day Everyone,

I've just been having a play around with some 'tutorials' and the like and this is an image that I produced.

I have larger versions of it on my website (http://www.mattelder.com ) for those who are really interested. I'd certainly be interested...

  • I just took a look at that and couldn't help laughing. I'm not sure what the cat is trying to do - whether it be a sinister hypnotist, ready to pounce on you and scratch you to death etc. The cat just looks so mean and stupid... it's hilliarous!! The contrasting colours really do add greatly to the...

ah that is a great image even though I don't like cats. Maybe if you added a simple drop shadow, that could help give the image a bit of depth and make the tears and scratches have a bit more realism to them.

Very nice job. As per previous comments, the bride is floating and needs to be grounded somehow. The picture is generally lacking some 'reality', what is the brides environment etc. Even with basic portrait photo's, there is some kind of 'cloudy' background and people are use to this. Maybe impose 'hubby'...

    Thoughts about this Restoration Piece

    G'day Everyone,

long time no post so I thought I would get things started with this (usual deal, work sucking up too much time but it's all good). This is something I've been working on for the last couple of days and just interested in thoughts and comments. I'm a bit 'close' to it and...

After much resistance, I switched from Netscape to IE. I mainly use IE 5 as being a web designer, 90% of browsers are IE unfortunately. Coding websites these days are annoying if you are using any 'tricky' javascript coding. Each browser has it's own little quirks and these days, you more or less have...

Interesting question. I would have to agree with previously mentioned comments. Ask for a second photo of the person and preferabbly with the same sort of profile shot that is in the image to be worked upon. First though you would talk with the client to see what they were really after - restoring that...

G'day everyone. Sorry I haven't been around of late but flat out with a flash project amougst other things. An interesting question. I'm not sure if you are asking what is your skill level with your program of choice or skill level doing retouching.

When it comes to usage and knowledge...

to be honest kathleen, that had never even occurred to me until about a month ago when I came across this web site which has a really good tutorial on how to do that:

I've just book marked it until I get...

G'day kathleen. Thanks for your comments. I'm not trying to side step the issue but I probably won't be giving a detailed description on how it was done for awhile. Mainly because I'm still experimenting with techniques, refining the technique, completely trashing one method and starting again. It's...

Thanks for your comments. Hmmm.... don't know if I should be admitting to it but I grew up on teenage mutant ninja turtles (maybe that explains a few things). I have alot of younger sibblings and also an uncle several times over so I'm *fortunate* enough to be kept up to date in the world of current...

Ninja Turtles - with my colour

G'day everyone. Ok something a little different. Here is a drawing by comic book artist Joe Madeuira and Townsend that I went and did all the colours on. Took me a lot longer than I would have liked but I was experimenting with a new style. I'd be interested to hear any comments people might have and...
