I used an almost-but-not-quite skin tone color painted on a separate layer set to overlay. It was much too orange, so I played with hue/sat levels until it looked more natural. On new layers over that, I used black and white set to overlay...
This photo has certainly inspired us! I think all of the painterly versions are wonderful! Wanda, you've got such a wonderful touch. I really envy the softness you're able to maintain.
