Re: wacom cintiq
The control panel applet for the Cintiq has a calibration utility that allows you to correct for the parallax. It allows you to offset the cursor to the pen tip so that they appear to be in the same place. It works okay. But it depends on your the angle of your point...

Re: 3D motion from still portrait
Yep, saw S1m0ne back when it came out. I went to see it to specifically see how it dealt with just that premise - using virtual humans as actors instead of real people. The thin, predictable plot and the "make virtual human" button aside,...

Re: wacom cintiq
Well, I don't know what to tell you besides give Wacom a call. The warranty information is on the site, just look in the left navigation column. The Cintiq can be used with other monitors. As for viewing angles, I can get all the way to the sides and...

Re: 3D motion from still portrait
It's my prediction that in the next 15 to 20 years or so that Actors will just simply lease their image and voice print. They'll go in for a full 3D body scan and voice sampling, walk over to the cashier to collect their fee, and they're done.

Re: wacom cintiq
Most of your questions should be answered at the Wacom website.

Yes, you can use it with other monitors. Wacom has them made. Don't know exactly who owns the factory that makes them. You would have...

Re: wacom cintiq
It's an LCD monitor, so it can be calibrated as any other LCD would. You can also create color profiles for it just as you could any other monitor.
As for cost... around $2,500 last I heard. But, if you do a lot of pen/tablet work it's...

Re: wacom cintiq
I have one at work and use it all the time. I love it! I have it sitting up at about a 45 degree angle like an art table. I lowered my chair a little so I'm not hunching over all that much.
Not being able to get used to it seems like it ought to be nonsense,...

Re: Sep 07 Contest Votes
The result was supposed to be realistic and look like a photograph. Eliminating all those that weren't left very slim pickings.
Out of what was left:
1. Doug Colwell
2. Lorraine
3. splata
4. dennisu
Because...

Re: Wacom Intuos A5 Wide
Yes, you can use whatever mouse you like. Even if you have a Wacom mouse. The Wacom mouse works through the tablet the same way the stylus does, while any standard mouse connects normally to the computer and works through the operating system. You can even...

Re: Sep 07 Contest
Well, here's my chilling attempt. I really tried to make it feel as though the photographer could have just walked up to her and snapped her photo as if this is how she really was at the time.
I look forward to any critiques in the discussion...

Re: A repeatable smokey background
Photoshop's Cloud and Difference Cloud filters are automatically seamless tiles if created in image sizes that are multiples of 128 pixels square.
In other words, if you create a new image 128x128, 256x256, 512x512 pixels, etc. and apply...

Re: Intuos3 tablet
Also, to draw a straight line (at least in Photoshop). With the brush tool selected click with the pen (or mouse), hold down the Shift key, and click where you want the line to end.
No rulers needed.

Re: What resolution and PPI for a picture you want to visualize on a TV?
Hi, HenZ. I design graphics and images for video and TV professionally for a living. The first thing to consider is that on a monitor of any kind (computer, TV, or HDTV) dpi or ppi is meaningless....Last edited by Racc Iria; 08-31-2007, 11:24 AM.
