Purchased this little beauty just over a month ago. Somehow I managed to justify the purchase by figuring it was only $400 more than the Intiuos I wanted.
Right out of the box, I drooled. Just like Macintosh, Wacom takes great care in packaging...

Re: Cintiq 12WX - A tiny widdle Cintiq
I just justified this buy ... BARELY!
I was going to purchase the Wacom Intuos 6x11 anyways ... and it was only a "little" bit more. ::sigh::
It better be a fruitful 2008!

Re: Is it just me....?
Now THAT is creative thinking! Love it! I'm still looking into my email marketing and direct mail. Unfortunately my website is still a mess and I just need to find the time to fix it up. That is the down side to being a "do-it-yourselfer"...

Re: i'm a photographer - educate me!!
Are you being "cute" or an ass? I cannot tell. I really don't know why everyone is getting so PO'd over this. The man was asking questions. Since when does anyone get blasted over questions on RetouchPro? Is it because...

Re: i'm a photographer - educate me!!
I don't think he was looking for job applicants from what I read, just opinions or "education" as he calls it. Anyways, I'd keep it in a PM
No, I'm not a Mod, but eager-beavers chafe me at times....

Re: i'm a photographer - educate me!!
So you need a photo editor as well as a photo retoucher (combined into one)
Sounds mind numbing, but the wage sounds pretty fair. It would work best with someone you could count on to think like you do. Sort of a "mini-jkay&qu...

Re: I know...I always have "odd" issues...
Update!
I think everyone was right. I implemented firmer rules and boundaries (included a "no you cannot call/email me everyday, "no I will not teach you how to use photoshop" and finally a moderate...

This is normally a slow time of year for me. I have started actually marketing and networking, but you seem to come in contact with more "interesting"...

I know...I always have "odd" issues...
How do you tell a client in a nice why that you are a retoucher, not a personal assistant?
1.) They were notified in the beginning that my average turn-around is 2 weeks
2.) They know I have other clients and I juggle "first come, first serve" unless a rush is being paid...

Re: From one extreme to the next...
Thanks, VERY useful! I forgot all about difuse glow! I had been doing edits in the blue channel and was getting a similar look, but without the softness. KEWL!...

From one extreme to the next...
My new goal seems to be the master of "fake"...LOL!!!!
I have a client that is wanting the sort of retouching found on this site: www.SatioPhotography.net.
The photos I am being given are good and clean but w/out extreme highlights. I suspect that is the missing...

I wanna play too...
Its been a LONG time.
I cannot really remember what the exact procedures were (I was playing during work for 10 minute increments all week), but if you need to know something I should be able to figure it out by my layers...

Re: And another question regarding digital albums...
I would love to know if someone is using this method of protection (LOL, sounds like I'm talking about an STD) or what steps besides waiting 70 years people are taking. I just did a restoration from a crumpled photo...

And another question regarding digital albums...
I've been requested to create digital album layouts for clients (you know with the nice magazine-style layouts and such). How would copyright fall on these? You would need releases from EVERYONE!
I know in graphic design it is the clients responsibility to secure release for images...
