  • Re: ab (Lab - L) as a layer in RGB file

Doug, I am with John on this. What he describes is called a Nested Smart Object. These allow image modules of different color spaces to be nested inside an RGB image. You can have as many as you like. Moreover you can nest smart objects within nested...

  • Re: Chromatic Aberration experiment in LAB!

Welcome back, Captain. I think you are heading in the wrong direction. Chromatic Aberration (CA) results from an optical effect and it is non linear. Realigning the channels linearly will not get rid of it. I have seen many tricks people use...

  • Re: How often do you use channel selections to DNB

FYI, with the release of CS4 or CS5, Adobe made a number of disruptive changes to some of the most important shortcuts. Ctrl ~,1,2,3 is now Crtl 2,3,4,5 respectively.
    Cheers, Murray...

OK, let me do a reset here in which I will try to separate the concepts of monitor calibration and color management in your photo editing workflow. Let me give you an analogy.
Let's imagine that you are near-sighted...

Exactly what was the "profile" name that you dragged to your computer and where did you place? An ICC calibration file for someone else's PC and Monitor is embedded deep inside the Windows System folder. It will...

Re: File Association Editor (Open With)

That's weird because it works fine for Win 7 for me. For example I have a few new image editing programs which were not on the list. I right clicked on a TIFF and added those 3 programs to the list and now every time I right click...

Re: File Association Editor (Open With)

Doug, you can do that in Windows7 and Windows8. There are a number of ways to change file and application associations. For what you want to do and add all the apps you want to the list without making them default. Right click "Opens With"...

  • Re: Retouching with exact profile but is desaturat

The problem you described is most often a result of color management. What color space are the photos tagged with (AdobeRGB, sRGB, ProPhoto). Assuming you are using PS, what color space are you working in and are your color profile mismatch...

Re: burning an image to a dvd

Bob, you should consider changing the title of your thread from Burning to DVD to Printing on DVD. The manufacturer of the DVDs designed to be printed on are likely the best people to contact. They are likely designed to be closest to a standard profile...

I would examine these under a strong magnifying lens to determine if they are some substance which has been deposited on top of the film, or if they are actually places on the film where the emulsion has been degraded by moisture, chemicals, light,...

  • Re: Photographer won't give me my photos as promis

You did not "commission" her to take the photos because you did not enter a business transaction and you did not pay her. You have no legal recourse, she has full copyright ownership.
From the excuses I read above (been...

The short answer is that the photographer, or the company for whom they are under contract, has 100% copyright ownership unless he/she has given away or licensed those rights in a legally executed agreement.
    However, while the...

Haven't tried it on a Mac but on a PC if you are running one version and try to start up 2nd version Windows ignores the request to start the 2nd version and just continues to run the 1st opened. At least that's the way...

  • Re: Use of Photoshop CC without uninstalling CS6

Adobe has always created PS so that each installation is completely separate. You can have all 14 version of PS installed on your on your PC at the same time. You can only run one version at a time. All of the others just take up disk space....
