    Re: Google Chrome

I'm browsing on it now, but until Google makes some major modifications, I don't think it will be my default browser. Chrome is seriously lacking in the area of customization. There's not much, if anything, you can do to customize this browser. Worst of all (for me,...

  • Re: Old newbie needing advice on colourizing

Here's the tutorial I use to colorize photos. It's not the "easiest" method, but if you can stick with it, the results are amazing. (if you click on the links below my name, you can see some some colorized photos I've done, using...

    Re: In need of Reviews

I'm going to keep this short...
Your skin retouching technique is not appropriate for the type of images you are working with. Regardless of the technique you used, the skin has a blurred appearance, and that kills it.

  • Re: Photo Restoration Jobs: Increasing or Decreasi

I would say the work has increased.

Surprisingly, I think the increase in work is due, in part, to the "do it yourself" books, and online tutorials, that promote the idea that this sort of work is easy to do yourself,...

Re: Critique pls on my new coloration

    sergio,
You might want to find a different technique. The technique used has altered the underlying image, and not in a good way. The color looks "applied" and artificial.

As for the coloring itself, there is too...

Re: First post, tell me where I screwed up.

It's a bit difficult to critique the work you have posted. It would help a great deal if you gave us an idea of what you were trying to achieve, and perhaps, one image at a time.

    Re: Another Skin Retouch

Without knowing the look you were after, my first thoughts were that this does not look natural or real. It appears that some type of blurring was done to selective skin areas, with a texture added afterwards. That aside, the idea of retouch (in my head) is...

    Re: I've been practicing.

I think you did an excellent job of keeping it real! Except for a small area along the top of her hairline, your work looks great. My only suggestion is that you could go a bit farther on the areas around the sides of her nose and upper lip area. Even without...

    Re: New coloration critique pls

I'm going to be brutally honest...
Photoshop skills and techniques are only a very small element of what makes a good colorization. The following are most important, and lacking in your images:
Color choices: don't just pick any color for...

    Smurfing,
    To answer your question:
I have posted quite a few coloring comments throughout the site. If you do a search for colorizing, etc. or my name, you can get some ideas.

Here's how I would go about this. Because Dad has delicate...

It appears to me that the images are too muddy - overall dark and dismal. Could be caused by the method you've used to color or too strong adjustments. The coloring also has a yellow/brown aged look (perhaps...

Agree. A new photo is needed. How about one that actually has the potential to be "glamorous"?

Re: Removing Scotch tape from a photo

I have to ask...have you consulted with your customer about removing the tape? Personally, I wouldn't try to remove it.
I would try using a blend of multiple scans - each scan adjusted in the scanning software to optimize a particular ar...

toe, no offense taken! I actually think you're thread title was a great way to get noticed.
Was I too harsh? Please excuse my critique "style", but I see no value in a critique if it doesn't offer some critical analysis. If you had posted...
