I am an Arizonan also, and agree about the scenery! I miss being able to walk the easy trails around the Superstitions, but may be able to handle the Gilbert Riparian Preserve. I got a mirrorless camera also to save on weight as well as features. Enjoy your new camera...

Sorry about the arthritis and joint replacements, and glad you will find a switch to photography and photo editing will fill your creative needs. I've found physical limitations and changes adding up as years roll by, and mobility/balance problems have made visiting locations and events for photography...

I haven't been active here in a long time, but it has always been a good place for novices, as well as those with more experience. Feel free to look around but also feel free to post when you find a thread that...

LOL!! Emmylou, 11th graders can always be counted on for "different" reactions on any subject, I guess. Kudos to your teacher for using these versions of the poems to catch the students' attention - I would bet that there are...

What a wonderful memory - I would have loved to sit in and shared those experiences ! When I first posted this thread over 10 years ago, I doubted that anyone would respond - very pleased to find others who love their music, and surprised...

Bill - I agree that you are the luckiest to have seen them in concert !! Was it in Utah, or did they tour out of state? Happy to find another fan, and hope that their music is running thru your mind like it does mine and...

Rednutt - glad to find another fan of the poetry and the music !

When my college friend introduced me to the 3D's music, there were 3 of us who really loved them. Never met anyone after college who was familiar with them,...

I could be wrong, but I think that Denis is solely behind Phoenix Records - not sure that either of the other guys is involved. Go ahead and make your suggestion - he might have been thinking about it or not, and hearing an encouraging...

Someone uploaded a copy (not MP3) on Youtube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5BCo6YPHLs

So you wanted to share it with your daughter? It's the only way I can read or hear the poem since I first fell in love with their musical...

You might have been able to make a more dramatic shot if the ladybug had stayed, but I'm happy for the ladybug - and all her babies. "Ladybug, ladybug,Fly away, home..." ...

As long as you weren't lighting up the victim to make it easier for the mantid to catch her

I like mantids, but I love ladybugs ......

It looks great here even under these conditions - great detail and color. I personally don't want to see the end of this encounter, so i will simply enjoy this image of the two of them as whole beings....
