    Re: Classic "stray hair" scenario

Thanks very much to everyone. The example I posted was only one of many pictures I have to work on.
    Some useful tips there though.
I have a bit of time on this, so – can to an extent – experiment a bit to see...

    Classic "stray hair" scenario

I appreciate that there is no classic right or wrong about this, but I have a series of models to work on.

To remove the background colour and, inevitably, a lot of stray hairs (see example).
    My basic approach is to use "Quick Selection" which covers around 90%;

Thanks Doug (and Kav). Appreciate your feedback.
The Challenges, in particular, look exactly what I am looking for. Wasn't aware of them before.

    Making Text Look Realistic?

I have quite a lot of this sort of work coming up.
    – Take a product = remove existing text;
    – then replace it with proposed new text

inevitably, as this is something that is being kicked about by various Marketing "bods" the text will go through dozens of...

    Photoshop practical exercises?

Can anyone recommend any websites (or books) that have specific Photoshop exercises to perform – as opposed to tutorials.

I am not sure how practical this is but, ideally, I would like something that gave out weekly exercises and then followed it up a week or so later with possible...

    Problem converting colours

I have been supplied with the attached image.
I am working in a commercial print environment – this needs to print two colours (green uncertain of what PMS – but just call it custom green for the time being) and black – ideally it needs to be on transparent background.

    Graphics terminology frustrations

I work in a small design and artwork studio – we're effectively a "satellite" office – within the British HQ of large corporate.
We are constantly battling with terminology – essentially Marketeers who are requesting items, but they don't know what they are asking for.

    Making an image "glow"?

(apologies if this is not the correct forum – please feel free to point me in the right direction if it is not)

I need to make a glow effect around the brush (see attached).

I have attempted this in Adobe Illustrator (using the "Outer Glow" effect) but I am...

    Creating a spot colour

Apologies if this is a bit basic, but I am new to this sort of thing.

I need to create a spot colour – PMS 233C – for the image attached. Not the brush – but the base of the object.

Can anyone give a quick 1-2-3 step guide....

    Tutorials on product retouching?

(just for the record – I hope this is not against the "rules" – I have posted this same thread in the Tutorials forum).

I have a large project coming up where I have to do a lot of product retouching.

It most cases it will be removing French text and replacing...

On the screen grab attached – the purple item to become warm red, but the blue items need to maintained.

    Any ideas / tips etc?...

    Changing colour, but maintain texture

I will add the usual caveat, in that I appreciate that there is not a "model" answer but I would welcome to hear viewpoints.

My task is to recolour the model's top – from cream / beige to dark blue / black, but obviously I need to make sure I keep the texture.
